World’s First Baby Boy Named Bitcoin

A Russian couple from Simferopol, Crimea has named their newborn baby boy Bitcoin in the honor of world’s first digital cryptocurrency “Bitcoin” which has a strong fanbase and passionate following across the world, reported by NIA Novosti Ukraine.

Baby boy whose full name is Bitcoin Olegovich weighs around 3 Kg and blessed with a good health. Bitcoin’s father Oleg told media that bitcoin’s meteoritic rise in price is responsible for his family’s financial well being and therefore wanted to express his gratitude to the cryptocurrency.

Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin have touched and changed people’s life in myriad of ways. Something, which was obsolete and only used by nerds a few years ago is getting much mainstream recognition. Parents naming their newborns with different cryptocurrencies names is another sign of wider adoption and appreciation of cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin is the first most widely used and globally adopted digital currency. Bitcoin was started by a pseudonym named Satoshi Nakamoto back in 2009 and since has been rising in both popularity and price. Bitcoin saw a peak of $20,000 in December 2017 and is currently hovering around $14,500 with a total market cap of $241 billions.
